A documented Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) which describes the routine particulate and microbiological monitoring of production and manufacturing areas that includes a corrective action plan when action levels are exceeded. This program provides meaningful information on the quality of the environment when a given batch is being produced or manufactured, as well as environmental trends of the area. EMP programs must identify potential routes of contamination, allowing for the implementation of corrections before contamination occurs.
